“My name is Stacey, I'm a 38 year old mother of two young boys and I work full time as a dental assistant. 3 years ago when my youngest son was 4 months old I weighed 210lbs. I felt miserable in my skin and was mad for allowing myself to gain so much weight. On Friday October 5, 2012 I made a decision that changed my life, I packed up both my boys in a jogging stroller and attempted to go for a run. It was extremely difficult and I ended up only being able to run a few minutes....but I didn't give up, everyday I packed up my boys and went running. Eventually the weight started to come off and I lost 50lbs. I signed up for a marathon and 8 months later I completed the Ottawa Full Marathon. Then I craved more so I joined a gym and started lifting weights. 5 months ago I started training under the guidance of my coach Jessica Macmillan who's knowledge and support combined with my determination and hard work completely changed my body. This past weekend I competed in my first OPA Masters and Open Bikini Competition, I had such an amazing experience. The event was very well organized, everyone was friendly and helpful and my fellow competitors were so nice and encouraging. It was a day I will never forget. I felt beautiful and confident and was able to show off my hard work on stage in front of my family and friends. Thank you to everyone at the Sudbury Classic Championship for putting on such a great event!”
